LEAGUE LEADERS (SEASON 3)

The following stats do not include postseason. Also, while each team played the regular-season load of 4 games, the stats were recorded for only the last 2 games because of Covid-19.

TEAM POINTS: Tallahassee Leopards, with 958. The Sacramento Mountaineers were a close second, with 956. Both the Leopards and the Mountaineers were undefeated in the season, going 4 - 0.

Interesting Notes

  • The Des Moines Royals were very undisciplined this year, getting 8 total penalties in two games.

  • The Augusta Snakes had an incredible Game 3, earning 620 points for 1 game. This may be a record that never gets broken.

BEST INDIVIDUAL PERFORMANCE IN A SINGLE GAME: Hands down, it was Kamino Karle for the Juneau Reindeer. This QB manages to through enough and run enough to accumulate 172 points in just one game. Way to go, Kamino!

QUARTERBACKS: Kamino Karle, again! He threw for 158 yards and snagged 3 TDs.

Interesting Notes

  • 11 other QBs, including our friend Karle, ran for total average of 1.75 yards. But not Micha Ravage, the QB for the Springfield Wolves. Micha averaged 9.5 running yards per game. The boy can run!

  • Somebody please stop Nick Love from the Little Rock Robbers. He totaled -2 yards for running. Oops.

RUNNING BACKS: Brian Strafe O'Miguel from the Juneau Reindeer earned the top spot this year, getting 144 total points for catching, running, and TDs.

Interesting Notes

  • Nick Sheldon from the Hartford Lions is the best RB catcher. He got 46 yards in two games.

  • Mike Moses of the Springfield Wolves is the best RB to go to if you want a running touchdown--3 in two games.

WIDE RECEIVERS: Christian Abstract from Augusta Snakes simply blew everyone away. He caught 119 yards and 2 Hail Marys for a total of 139 points. Talk about hands of glue! His closest competitor was Mitch Christopher (remember, you say his name as kris-TOE-fer) from the Sacramento Mountaineers with 115 points.

Interesting Notes

  • If you want to go long, trust Aarron Kentucky, who caught the most catches over 30 yards (3).

  • Chuck Puffin has gotta go! The biggest disappointment of Season 3, this 98-power player earned exactly 0 points (that means no catches at all, not even one).

SNAPPERS: Andrew Red from the Hartford Lions took the honors with 95 total points because he's got absolute trust from his quarterback. After all, 87 of these these points come from catching.

Interesting Notes

  • Jacko Janda from the Springfield Wolves scored the most TDs (4).

  • Ethan Marble has the steadiest hand, earning 28 points for field goals and extra points.

OFFENSIVE GUARDS: Donte Dickerson from Augusta Snakes earned 172 points. The next closest guard had 66. That's how good Donte was this season. He also had the most blocking points at 132 (again dominating, since the second best in blocking points had 45).

KICKERS: Quincy Quark from the Sacramento Mountaineers took the overall honor at 89 points. John Baller from St. Paul Touchdowns had the most points for actually kicking the ball through the posts (40), and Dogmus Litter from the Springfield Wolves is by far the best at trapped kicks, netting 75 points.

Interesting Notes

  • Nobody--not a single kicker--logged a field goal over 30 yards long.

RUNNERS: Andrew Homer from the Sacramento Mountaineers had a truly great season. He earned 120 total points, with the runner up (Derrick Horn from the St. Paul Touchdowns) coming in at 70.

Interesting Notes

  • Homer returned the ball for scores 6 times. SIX TIMES!

  • If you actually want your returner to actually earn yards off the kickoffs, recruit Basil Black from the Augusta Snakes. The guy plays in a baseball uniform, but what a player. He's hard to stop. This season he got 55 yards after kickoff.

CAPTAIN LINEBACKERS: Bruno Art from the Tallahassee Leopards leads with 138 pts. He stripped the ball from runners 7 times. Incredible.

PASS RUSHERS: Who else but Dean the Mean from the Springfield Wolves? He racked up 185 points. Zack Cykeber from the Phoenix Explores came in second with 130.

Interesting Notes

  • It's hard to get into the end zone if Farley Esth is defending. He pulled in 70 stop points.

  • Rubino Herryiattowwi is the best sacker, getting that QB on the ground 6 times.

CORNERS: Larry Gordon from from the Honolulu Surfers takes this honor with 80 points.

Interesting Notes

  • Bruce Firmer from the Springfield Wolves earned only 40 total points, but all of those points came from interceptions of passes under 10 yards. This guy is quick! He hunches down and then springs up to grab those short passes.

SAFETIES: Wally Houston from the Sacramento Mountaineers squeaked into first with 85 points. He took the lead in actual safeties as well, getting 40 points by making the offense turn the ball over in the end zone.

Interesting Notes

  • Shadow Jamis from the Tallahassee Leopards leads the league for long interceptions. He earned 40 points in two games.

COACHES: It's fitting that LoLo Ronnie, head coach for the Tallahassee Leopards, takes the honors here. He scored 100 coaching point, keeping his team winning, healthy, and relatively free of penalties. The runner up was Jonny Tree of the Sacramento Mountaineers with 40 points.

The Gridball National League wishes to extend a

hearty congratulations to these league leader for

Season 3. Way to go, players!
