 a new competition

And this time not so chance based...

We all know Gridball, right? roll a die,  do the math, take your move. Not too much strategy. Well, me and the team have decided to change that. With the Powerbowl.

The first thing you need to do is shape your team. This is where some of the strategy comes into play. you need to go to the web page that says "Sign Up Players", then, try and decide which players to recruit with a mere 6000 gridcoins.

Then, play a game of Gridball with your new team, putting them, and their unique powers, into play whenever you need them most...

I: The Rewards

The regular Gridball season game mixes a random roll of the dice with the competitive season and easy to learn mathematics. But, hopefully you’re familiar with our simple tagline. Math, strategy, chance. You might ask, where is the strategy? We’re hoping you’d ask. Allow us to introduce the Powerbowl.

When you finish a regular season Gridball game, you automatically get a set of rewards. Right now, they are as such:

  • 1000 Gridcoins

  • 2 Gridball History Books

  • 4 Gridbowl ll Trophies

  • 8 Gridball Gallery Paintings

  • Much more in the future

These rewards, while thy don’t look like much, they are essential for crafting your own ultimate team. Yep, the Powerbowl will let you recruit your favorite players onto your own custom lineup. This is how it works. When you buy the season pack, you will notice how it comes with not just 6, but 10 Gridball game sheets. Once you participate in the season games, finishing all 6, you then are entitled to these rewards:

  • 6000 Gridcoins

  • 12 Gridball History Book

  • 24 Gridbowl ll Trophies

  • 48 Gridball Gallery Paintings

  • Reward Pack (for finishing all 6 games) (includes two random players, 60- 90+ pwr)

  • Much more in the future

You can then use these rewards to purchase special edition players, or just your average team cards. Example: Mitch Christopher (Wide receiver position) has a pwr rating of 87, so he is valued around 900 gridcoins. You can see more details about this player by entering this URL into your search browser (https://www.worldofgridball.com/draft-office-team-cards), then scrolling down, and clicking on his photo.

II: The Players

As stated earlier, finishing all 6 season games gets you tons of rewards, witch you can put towards players. These players have different types off pwr ratings, which determines their value. (By the way, only the first number does this. e.g. an 89 pwr rating is the same value as a plain 80 pwr rating, but both are more valuable than a 75 pwr rating.) But we haven’t even covered the use of these cards. Sure, some cards may cost more than others and look cooler, but what’s that have to do with making this game less of chance and more of strategy? We’ll cover that next. Right now, I’ll show you how to buy players, and explain how to put them in your ultimate lineup.

The pwr ratings are as such, from least valuable to most.

  • 50-59 pwr (okay, 125 gridcoin value)

  • 60-69 pwr (average, 250 gridcoin value)

  • 70-79 pwr (good, 700 gridcoin value)

  • 80-89 pwr (great, 900 gridcoin value)

  • 90-99 pwr (amazing, 1,500 gridcoin value)

  • 100+ pwr (legendary, ??? gridcoin value)

(We rated the players based on gridcoin value for your convenience, but you can buy special edition players for different currencies, like 24 paintings for a 86 pwr Gridball Gallery player.)

To buy players, all you have to do is email/send us a note telling me and the team what player you want. We have an entire library of players, 12 from each Gridball season team. We also have special edition players, such as Gallery players, Legacy players, Spotlight players, Journalist players, and so much more just in the “Sign Up Players” menu on www.worldofgridball.com. Also, our email address is either clivehorn10@gmail.com or worldofgridball@gmail.com. Either one will do. Our real-life address is 2416 6th street, Cuyahoga falls, Ohio, in case you want to send us stuff instead. Anyway, the 12 Gridball players you need to complete your lineup are as follows:

  • OFFENSE (5 players)

  • 1 Quarterback- QB

  • 1 Running back- RB

  • 1 Wide receiver- WR

  • 1 Offensive guard- OG

  • 1 Snapper- SP

  • DEFFENSE (5 players, you choose which)

  • 1-4 Corners- C

  • 1-4 Safeties- S

  • 1-4 Pass rushers- PR

  • 1 Captain linebacker- CLB

  • SPECIAL TEAMS (2 players)

  • 1 Punter/Kicker- P/K

  • 1 Returner- R

III: The PWRs

As mentioned earlier, this page will talk about the reasons why you should spend your time and Gridcoins budgeting out a custom team. Each player has a pwr rating, and each position has a special ability that pwr rating can activate. Don’t understand? Just read on.

Quincey Quark is a 94 pwr Punter. That activates a special ability you can access in-game. You can see all these abilities in the Gridball pwr notebook. But, as you can see, if you buy this player, you can activate his power once per game to give you an advantage! (this goes for all players and all positions, by the way) Just slap a player of your choice down if you want to use him, (just be sure it’s after your roll) and the higher pwr players the better! e.g. Mike plays a 87 pwr Quarterback, activating the QB’s power. But wait! Jim slaps down a 91 pwr pass rusher! This activates the pass rusher’s incredible power! What a play! (note: if Jim had a 97 pwr QB instead, both pwrs are still activated. That’s what happens when both players are on the same pwr rank.) Just one more thing, and that’s that you can only play offensive players pwrs on offense, and the same for defense. Also, only one player per turn. (unless the card says otherwise) That’s it. Remember, if you want to order a player, drop us a line and, so long as you have enough Gridcoins, we’ll be more than happy to send you a copy on paper. As stated earlier, check out all the players we have to offer on www.worldofgridball.com. Also, if you didn’t buy the Gridball season pack, a copy of the complete Gridball pwr Notebook is available for only $1, so get your copy now! https://www.worldofgridball.com/shop.  Oh, and by the way, (I should’ve mentioned this earlier) the Gridball Season pack comes with 12 generic no-pwr players so you can still have 12 players on your team, even if you goofed up and spent too much for one player.

VI: The Showdown

Remember, back up top, how we stated that there was not just 6, but 10 Gridball games in the Gridball Season pack? Well, we’ll be explaining the other 4 here. Now comes your chance to put all your players into play, with the 4 game Powerbowl Season. The season comes after the regular Gridball season (one month after), so that you have plenty of time to choose the players and so we have plenty of time to mail them for you. Another thing- don’t worry about emailing us and asking us to sign you up! That’s already done! When you buy the season pack, we automatically enter you in for the Powerbowl! (If you don’t want to do the Powerbowl, that’s fine too. Just send us an email letting us know you don’t want to.) Then, send us yet another email/letter letting us know your team name, team logo (you can draw a picture, design an image, or simply let us do it) and a tagline. Go to https://www.worldofgridball.com/create-your-powerbowl-team to find out more. Finally, we’ll send you the schedule and a copy of the 12-man team another person has put together, one player at a time. You can play the games with friends or family, or even with yourself. Just be sure to do it honestly. Once you’re done with each game, send it to us and we’ll send you back a new team to play. This goes on for 4 games, and may the best team win…
